Holds and Reserves

You can reserve a library item by placing it on hold through your online account, in person at a branch, or by contacting us. When placing a hold online, sign into your account, find the item in our catalogue, click “Place Hold” and choose a pickup location.

Reserved items will be held for 7 days before being placed back into circulation or going to the next person with a hold.

Available items

If the item you want is available on the shelves, placing it on hold will ensure that it is set aside for you when you are ready to pick it up.

Items that are checked out

If the item you want is currently checked out to someone else, placing it on hold will add your name to the waiting list.

Hold Suspension

Use this convenient feature to indicate when you will be unavailable to pick up your hold. During this time, your hold will be passed to the next person in line, while preserving your place in the queue until your return. This is an ideal solution if you are planning to be away on vacation.
